The Charleston Public Library will provide to members of the community access to a wide variety of well-organized print and electronic resources for learning and enjoyment. 

 

The Charleston Carnegie Public Library system is located at 712 Sixth St., Charleston, IL. The Charleston Carnegie Public Library provides free services to all residents living within the Charleston city limits with services available to all others for a fee.

 

The library holds over 74,252 materials including over 67,000 books, and 3,000 compact discs and books on cd and cassette. Over 1,300 DVDs are also  available for check-out.

 

In total, over 100,000 items were checked out of the library during fiscal year 2009-2010! In addition to these items, thousands of people entered the library to utilize print and electronic reference resources, access the Internet, enjoy state-of-the-art Wi-fi service, view a Library exhibit, or attend one of the Library’s many events.
